I've been familiar with the power of Leslie's pen for years. But when a storm of loss and change came around just when her beautiful memoir was published, I couldn't engage. I couldn't feel that deeply. Everything was so tender to the touch.
Art heals and grows us through pain. Art is that wise teacher who waits and holds the lessons until we are ready to engage fully and do the work. I'm so thankful that there are people who courageously put pen to paper for the benefit of us all.
